Eggs

Many of us thought that when battery cages were banned, hens were no longer caged in UK egg production.

But they are. And you can tell the system that the hens were in by looking at the code printed on the eggshells. But we may overlook the powdered and liquid eggs that are used in many products, including fresh pasta, mayonnaise, and baked and pre-packaged goods like cakes, biscuits, and crackers. These are usually from caged or barn systems.
