What It Is

The secret formula for making a killing out of killing is to spend less on it. And so the industry found that it is quicker and cheaper to simply herd pigs into gas chambers and pump CO₂ in until they suffocate. Plus, great news! You can also lower whole crates of chickens into gas, too.

So what if all the experts call this process “highly aversive” and document animals screaming in distress and writhing in pain? And who cares if the gas burns their lungs and is so painful that animals have been recorded breaking limbs in a desperate effort to escape? Not the factory farming industry!

In England and Wales, 90% of pigs,¹ are gassed to death using a cheap, but inhumane gas. The industry calls this “humane slaughter” but hidden cameras at a UK pig slaughterhouse² and at another which slaughters egg-laying hens³ shows this is a whopper of a lie.
